I would prefer an email saying you have been given an invite. Please click here to activate. The invite will expire in 7 days. Or something similar.
*gimme an invite* ;)
So I'll send 5 of my invites to the first ones to post their email here (make sure you obfuscate them a bit - spambots!).
Thanks
benlemp_at_gmail_dot_com
Ok, same deal -- 10 invites from me.
I'm interested, though, do you get 10 invites also?

Congrats and I hope to be help you debug it.
Could someone send an invite to jdv-at-foobar-dot-be? I promise I'll share my invites too!
Anyhow. I'm quite intrigued by the DropBox architecture. If it works like I understand it -- unlimited undelete -- then I'm going to drop (pardon the pun) Mozy for this application!
If you guys have any left, could you please send one to sherrod314 at gmail dot com? I'd really appreciate it!
Thank you! - Mic
Thanks!

I need to reserve 2 invites for two friends, who are awaiting the Linux client release before they sign up.
Sorry. If I get anymore invites, I'll make another offer here!
Thanks to JinglemanSweep for the initial invite.
I have been waiting anxiously for the beta. May I please have an invite?
aroberts66 at yahoo dot com
counting the replies to your offer it seems you still might have some three invites left?
I'd very much appreciate one to dropbox.invitation.trasher@spamgourmet.com
guess its my turn to offer some (lets say five or six) invitations if someone needs... see my adress above.
The first few to mail me get an invite. (I'll post here again when I'm out.)

Anyone else wanting an invite can mail me at jdv [at] foobar [dot] be

There seems to be a "less-is-more" thing going around on these startups. Google did that with their search page but then they didn't ask me to sign up for anything before using it. I don't like signing up for a pig-in-a-poke (love those hyphens, don't you?).
Well, I may give it another look when I get back to my office.
Peace,
Rob:-]
I'm afraid I have to disagree somewhat...
The homepage contains a large screencast video of exactly what Dropbox does, and also fully describes the product's functions and benefits. The modern generation of internet users are fully capable of using an embedded streaming Flash video (ala YouTube), and so will instantly learn about what Dropbox does.
The fact that you claimed to not have seen the video because you are at a customer site is not relevant at all. The fact that you are "on-site" at customers premises doesn't affect the quality of the Dropbox product, brand and/or quality of service.
Finally, I disagree with your with "less-is-more" argument. We are all too used to all types of media (print, radio, web) filling its pages, schedules or websites full of inappropriate distracting commercial content. This usually consists of advertisements, jingles, banner ads etc. above and beyond what is generally considered the useful and/or relevant content/service the product offers.
This is one reason why Google is successful. It simply provides the information you (as the customer) requires. No distracting adverts, animations or videos. Admittedly, GMail and search functionality does contain "Google Ads", but they are discrete, and do not intefere with the operation (and your perception) of the product.
If the screen isn't full of banners, sponsor messages or corporate logos, it doesn't mean it is a simple or ineffective product, the developers simply care more about their users than they do about the advertising/marketing executives.
Although, it sounds like I am an employee of Dropbox, I can assure I am in no way related to the company, but am in approval of their solution to such a common problem, and especially due to the fact it will be truly cross-platform (Windows, Mac AND Linux). I have only trialled the product a few times on my Windows partition, but I am awaiting the Linux client, as that is what I use most of the time.
I would definitely consider paying for a premium "DropBox" (dependent on features, quotas etc.).
Sorry for the rant...
Just felt I should say something.
I haven't been this excited since waiting for my 20Mb internet connection at home. Its almost as bad as waiting for Django 1.0... bloody newforms-admin branch!
Anyway... DropBox Team... Keep up the grand work, and... erm... HURRY UP!

Just like nfnw I've been hunting for an invite and I check the blog every day (you can verify this in your logs LOL) I really think this product will beat the heck out of MobileME, Skydrive, and probably Mozy and other on line backup companies.
I really want to get in this beta and will be greteful if you can send me an invite at: martinayon_at_hotmail_dot_com

P.S. Thanks for treating Linux like an equal citizen from the start AND for offering a service that uses deltas!
I'd love an invite to the Linux client, if someone has an extra they don't need.
