I don't think "sticking" any copy protected content up is a good idea, you might get banned as you do not own the rights to that material (unless you bought it, but there is no way of proving).

I love this service, 50GB seems to be plenty for me and im sure most people unless you plan on sticking full length DVD videos up there?? Anyway, its great for dropping stuff off there from home to use at work :D.

Just a quick note - the Nautilus icon really should be transparent - the white box dosen't look nice in Ubuntu 8.10.

Exept from that, it's really a great product!

The connection to dropbox is secured using SSL and the data is stored encrypted using AES256

Not only that, but there is only one mention (almost in passing) about any type of security in use. It's not unreasonable to expect that some people will want to sync up some high-security info (aside from the standard security pics, contacts, work files, etc) and a little more info or explanation on what and how security is achieved seems necessary. It has the potential to be a great product, but right now I just can't get enough info from their site.

Great product. Like many, I'm already transitioning from MobileMe to DropBox. My only "complaint" is storage. A 50 GB dropbox is great, but I'd like to see a 100 GB for $100/year. To really use the service completely, I want my music and photos in my DropBox too!

Just wanted to give you mad props. I'm a creative volunteer for a church in Charlotte NC. Within our all volunteer creative team we have two graphic artist, a photographer, two video editors, a film industry vetran, and a photographer.

Exactly how will DropBox help you with your iPhone? Did I miss someting? I see what appears to be pretty expensive to me for just a file storage service. No synching of contacts, e-mail, calendar. Just a, "DropBox" allowing limited storage of only 50GB (not paltry for sure, but limited). I don't know.

Personally I'd like to see a certain amount of storage dedicated to a workgroup and the ability to assign different people access. So I could drop stuff in one of my many dropboxes and only give certain people access.

Its really a great service but I would like to know about security features you provide, how my data is stored on your servers and weather the transfer protocol is secured or not?
Is the security mechanisms you follow for a free account the same as the payed one?

Could you add a 25GB plan for 49.99/year?? That would be very appealing for a lot people, including me. I just want to sync my Documents folders across 2 computers, so far I've been using my iDisk and is cumbersome to put it mildly. Many times I get this Last Sync Failed error, and more than once I had to download again all the information which can take hours.
