This actually a bug, not a feature. Because of this, it makes it very hard to check if a file has been copied from the phone to Dropbox, because they have different names. And you do need to check, because the Dropbox Android app often fails to upload photos in the background. And the Dropbox app offers no feature to delete the photos from your phone once they have been uploaded. So whenever your phone runs out of storage space, you have to go through the excruciating process of checking which photos have been successfully uploaded to Dropbox, working around the fact that Dropbox decides to rename all the photos for you.

I have contacted support about this, but I just got generic replies, and I gave up.

how can we cope with "extensions" when Dropbox web interface has been simply unbearable for daily file management operations. can't also use the desktop client without dragging all computing resources. please fix the web client and make Dropbox a great product again

Great, I still need only 100 maybe 150 GB of cloud storage but I have to pay for 1, 2 or 3 TB. I really like dropbox performance and great clients but still I prefer to pay 1,99 dollars instead of almost 10 dollars per month for unused storage. Why you are so stubborn and can't you implement a low price dropbox plan with for example 100 GB. I see many of people are keep asking the same questions on facebook and other forums.

And now also help webdevelopers and allow https://codepen.io to embed in Dropbox Paper, the oEmbed endpoints are already in place (done by Codepen them self), you only need to allow it!

Yeah, but will this work for personal accounts that use Google Docs and Google Sheets? I think this integration is awesome but it just sounds like for business users which is a major bummer

Love that you mentioned "Work at a different time of day". I found that by mixing things up and tapping into my most creative times helps. Sometimes it is morning and other it is afternoon. But something so easy was hard to get right.

Well, To fully replace Office you need better Math Equation support.
You must enable both Inline Math and Display Math modes of MathJaX.

Your current implementation isn't good enough.

Thanks for the reply, that is helpful. One question. I have some very large folders that I have turned off from being on my laptop (pre-Smart Sync), as they were too big. If I want access to them via Smart Sync now, can I do that in a way that I don't have to turn them on/download them to my laptop first, then make them online only?

Hi Don!

At the moment, you can make any folder online-only in one click, which makes all its subfolders and the files inside online-only. Even if some of these subfolders are locally on your device, and some are online-only, you just have to make the parent folder online-only with no risk of syncing issues to clean up space on your computer.
We would recommend to adapt your folder structure to your needs - let's say that you have a folder structure with only 3 folders at the root; then you would be able to make the entire content of your Dropbox account online-only in 3 clicks.

This being said, this is a really valuable feedback and we've shared it with our development team.
